A mandala of commanding darkness and restrained opulence, built on a ground of deep onyx black worked with raw, heavily textured gold relief that feels less applied and more excavated — as though the gold was always beneath the surface and the black merely the earth around it. The composition moves outward from a central jewelled disc in concentric rings of increasing ornamental complexity, carrying star-form florals, crown motifs, scrolling vines, and layered lotus forms that fill every register with equal density and intention. What elevates this piece into its own category within the collection is the pearl work — individual white pearls are set throughout the outer rings and border in a continuous, unhurried scatter, their organic luminosity sitting in complete contrast against the raw gold and matte black around them. Diamond-cut crystals and square-set stones punctuate the inner circles with precise placement, each one chosen for its position rather than its abundance. This is a piece of absolute authority — the kind of work that does not require colour to hold a room, because it holds it with weight alone.
